8th Annual Charity Hat Tournament
Welcome! 🎄🥏💚
We are excited to see you all this Saturday (Dec 20th) for a fun day of frisbee! This year's theme is the holiday classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Your hearts may be two sizes too small now, but by the end of the day, they'll grow three sizes! Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Texas Children's Hospital, bringing holiday cheer to kids facing challenging medical situations.

Toy Donation 🎁 & Raffle 🎟️
All participants are strongly encouraged to bring a toy to donate to Texas Children's Hospital. After all, maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store... but toys still help!
Toys must be new and unwrapped. Suggested items include:
- Blankets
- Coloring Books
- Legos
- Play-Doh
- Pokemon
- Dolls
Players who donate a toy will be entered into a raffle to win amazing prizes from our sponsors.
The raffle will be held at 12pm at Tournament Central.

Schedule
Please arrive no later than 8:30am to donate your toy, find your team, and get a few warm-up throws in.
Play starts promptly at 9am.
The tournament ends at 3pm.

Tournament Format
Pool Play (Morning)
Three pools of four teams. Each team plays round-robin for 3 games total.
Raffle & Break
12:00-12:30pm at Tournament Central.
Bracket Play (Afternoon)
Teams seed into three brackets based on pool play:
Championship Bracket: 3 pool winners + best 2nd place team
Middle Bracket: Remaining 2nd place teams + top two 3rd place teams
Spirit Bracket: Remaining 3rd place team + all 4th place teams
Seeding: Record, then point differential. Weird ties? Coin flip, beer race, or whatever seems most fun in the moment.
Note: There will be no crying about which bracket you end up in - everyone plays semifinals and finals, everyone has fun. The Grinch would be proud. 💚
Park Rules
- No parking in the Church parking lot
- Dogs must be leashed and are only allowed on grass fields (NOT turf)
- Clean up sidelines and use provided trash cans
- No glass on fields
- No stealing Christmas (serious park violation)
Tournament Rules
- Current USAU Rules apply unless noted otherwise
- 50-minute games with hard cap (signaled by siren)
- Gender ratio default is 6/1 (captains may agree to 5/2 or Gender Zones)
- Round robin and semifinals: Games to 11, halftime at 6
- At halftime switch sides and continue play
- Finals: Games to 13, halftime at 7 (60-minute games)
- One timeout per team per game (including Finals games)
- Seeding follows USAU Rules:
- Win/loss
- Head to head
- Multiple team ties determined by point differential

What to Bring
- Black and white jerseys (no gray)
- New, unwrapped toy donation
- Water bottle (filling stations available)
- Weather-appropriate layers (games played rain or shine on turf)
- A heart ready to grow three sizes: Come ready for friendly, fun, competitive, social play
